Standing at the Second Schweinfurt Memorial on October 14, 2013 for the service, hearing the letter from SSMA President Bud Klint and a wonderful sermon of our protestant minister, Dieter Schorn, I decided to turn in my application for membership to the SSMA eventually. It would be a great honor for me to be given membership of this wonderful means of peacekeeping among peoples and I am sure my dad, the late Christian Kämpf, will be proud and happy too.

Please let me welcome you also, Martin, from Julee MacDonald Secretary, SSMA, my father "Pete" Mullinax and my husband Bob MacDonald, Vice President SSMA.
Thank you for a warm welcome. You're right, Rob. They did a lot for this to set into motion. Especially your father did a lot as a leader in the original veteran meeting and later the SSMA. I only know little about the whole legacy but I learned that he organized the meeting in Fort Worth, Texas. My parents loved it and told me many times about it. But the magic lies for me in the working together of so many people who joined in and needed to be thanked for. It is an amazing thing, that was never possible if so many did not do their part in public services and private initiative. I know only few: Mr. Roberts and all the other leaders of the original SSMA, our mayor Mrs Grieser and the present mayor Mr. Remele, the late Dr. Schäfer and the leaders of the Schweinfurter Luftwaffenhelfer, our protestant minister Dieter Schorn and lot of others who coordinated the meetings. I wouldn't feel fine coming in and claiming the whole thing for my father. But youre right. They had a great share in it. Hopefully it will last. It might be our dedication that decides over the future of SSMA.
It is our pleasure to have you here Martin
