Viktor is one of our German members who has researched many of the 10/14 crash sites and thanks to him we are able to confirm your father's crew and plane that day. I have the book he refers to - Wrong Place, Wrong Time (George Kuhl) and will copy the pages of interest to you and send them via land mail if you are willing to share your address with me. You really do want to try to read this book if at all possible. Your local library should be able to find it for you via Inter-library loan. You may want to purchase. Tonight it's available via EBay international at 2 places in England. I will also forward the ordering info for pins, etc. There is so much to share I wish I could jump in my car tonight and head to Wisconsin and help you through this. Two additional people on our network who you may want to contact are Ian White (from the UK and is a walking historian of the 305th) and Tracey Jackson whose father flew in the same formation as your father on 10/14 and he was also a "guest" at 17B. Are you aware of the march the men endured before being liberated in May of 1945? Tracy is also a member on the Stalag17B.ning network. I read your comment for Sue Moyer......you looking for information about your father when he flow with Lt. Charles W. Willis Jr. the second Schweinfurt raid.
The book "Wrong Place, Wrong Time" from George C. Kuhl is a very great book with many good information from the crews and his fate on 14. October 1943.
